The draft amendments to the Election Code will estimate that instead passports and IDs of Georgian Citizens the citizens of EU member states will be able to take part in the elections with the passports of EU member states.

Consequently, after the draft-law is passed, Bidzina Ivanishvili will be able to take part in the elections with French passport.

According to the Constitutional amendments, every person, who was born and have lived in Georgia for the last five years and is citizen of the EU member state, can take part in the presidential and parliamentary elections up to January of 2014.
