On July 16, uniformed Russian and Ossetian armed forces mobilized at the surrounding area of Khurvaleti and Tsitelubani villages. They did not allow locals to harvest. The locals ask for help from the Government. They think that the situation became difficult after media representatives dismantled so-called “border banner” of South Ossetia.

New Occupation Line

On July 10, on the surrounding area of village Tsitelubani of Gori district and village Ortchosani of occupied district Akhalgori, near the Tbilisi-Gori central highway, the representatives of Russian occupation forces moved so-called border banners 300 meters into the Georgia-controlled territory. According to the new occupation line, a part of Baku-Supsa pipeline turned up within the occupied territory.

The document encompasses examination of the functioning of 12 institutions in Georgia, including the Public Defender’s Office and reflects positive and negative changes implemented in these bodies over the last four years.

Gori Municipality Assembly Refused to Transfer Buildings to the Ministry of Economy

The Ministry of Economy asks transfer of four kindergarten buildings from the Gori City Hall, so they can legalize this space for internally displaced persons. At this moment, refugees are living temporarily in these four buildings. Gori City Hall rents five kindergarten buildings, for which 4000 lari are spent monthly from the local budget.

Nino TsotsoriaSeveral hours of rain in Tbilisi, on June 13, flooded river Vere. As a result, the river overflowed from its banks, flooded Heroes Square, and its adjacent areas. Up to 20 people died during the disaster, 3 are still missing. The flood destroyed the zoo. One part of the animals drowned in the water, some of them were liquidated after the escape. Road surface and infrastructure is destroyed. Total damage is approximately 100 million Lari.
A Citizen Died after a Drug Test

56-year-old Levan Abzianidze died in Kutaisi on June 17. Two persons took him to the Imereti Regional Division of MIA, from where he was taken to the Narcological Center. He took a drug test, but it did not show that he was under influence of drugs. Few minutes later, on his way from the Narcological Center, he died in the park near his house.

Ruisi Population protests closed roads because of constructing autobahn

Confrontation between the Kareli Municipality governor and some of the locals from Ruisi continues. On May 22 the locals gathered near the Ruisi’s section of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze highway, protested abolition of access roads to their plots as a result of construction of autobahn.

Karajala residents report 5 more women plan to move to Syria

According to the media, two women from Karajala village of Telavi municipality, Irada Gharibova and Anna Suleimanova left for Syria via Turkey. Some locals confirm this information, but some people say they went to Turkey for trading. Husbands of Irada Gharibova and Anna Suleimanova are looking for them. Afterwards, information was spread in Karajala village of Telavi municipality that five more women from the village plan to move to Syria.
